Everyone gets the blues. Maybe it’s writer’s block, maybe you’re bored. Just to make clear, I’m not talking about depression. If you’ve been in a dark place or disinterested in life for more than a week or so, then activate #9 below.
Here are some ways to get back to productivity. They can get you over the hump and back on track when you’re feeling a little down.
My top 10 ways to get over the blues and get out of a funk:
  1. Exercise: Physical activity is known to release endorphins, which are the body's natural mood boosters. So, go for a walk, hit the gym, or try some yoga to get those endorphins flowing.
  2. Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can affect your mood, so make sure you are getting enough restful sleep each night.
  3. Eat healthy: A healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can help improve your overall well-being, which can also affect your mood positively.
  4. Connect with friends and family: Spending time with loved ones can help alleviate feelings of loneliness and sadness.
  5. Practice gratitude: Focusing on the positive things in your life can help shift your mindset and improve your mood.
  6. Try something new: Doing something out of your routine can help break the monotony and give you a new sense of purpose.
  7. Get outside: Spending time in nature has been shown to have a positive effect on mental health, so take a walk in the park or go on a hike.
  8. Limit social media and news consumption: Constantly scrolling through social media or watching the news can contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression.
  9. Seek professional help: If you're struggling to get out of a funk, it may be helpful to talk to a therapist or counselor who can offer support and guidance.
  10. Practice self-care: Taking care of yourself can help improve your mood and overall well-being. This could include things like taking a relaxing bath, meditating, or treating yourself to a massage.

Hang in there. Don’t overthink things or create a circular anxiety loop. Take a step back and evaluate your situation from an outside perspective. Cut yourself some slack, but own up to your mistakes.
